The Fish Creek Ranch of Montana
A registered Black Angus cattle operation.
Our goal is to pay special attention to the needs of each and every cow. At Fish Creek, we believe in making an early decision to focus on the maternal side, making it the cornerstone of building a superior herd.
Our Herd
Our herd is the product of Donna 4203, a cow well into the top 10% of nine EPD categories for the breed including docility and in the top 1% for $M, and dam to top sellers; combined with desirable record-setting calving-ease sires with high $W and proven productive daughters.

In 2017, after years of living in Wyoming, Ron and Kate Rule purchased a beautiful 500 acre ranch outside of Alberton, Montana. The ranch, bordered by the Clark Fork River Gorge and Fish Creek, had the cattle and equine facilities they desired, including multiple barns, and indoor- and outdoor-arenas.
In addition to the veterans’ retreat, the Rules established a small Black Angus cattle herd with emphasis on their maternal program. Coleman Donna 4203, a cow valued at $90,000, was a major contributor.
